위의 명단의 투수 중 부상이 아닌데 대체 선수가 있는 선수들은 올스타전 직전인 전반기 마지막 경기에 등판을 하였기 때문에 부상 방지를 위해 올스타전 행사에만 참석할 뿐 경기에는 등판하지 못하여 대체 선수가 뽑힌 것이다.
그리고 이번 올스타 명단에는 처음으로 선발된 선수들이 64명 그리고 이중 경기에 출전하는 선수들은 36명으로 유독 많습니다.
또한 크레이튼 커쇼 선수와 마이크 트라웃 선수는 올스타전 8회 출전으로 현역 선수 중 가장 많은 출전 기록을 가지게 되었습니다.(마이크 트라웃 선수는 8년 연속 출전이고, 역대 최초인 올스타전 3회 MVP에 도전한다.)
류현진 선수는 1회만 던질 것이라고 돌 로버츠 감독이 얘기했고요, 선발 맞대결 상대로는 저스틴 벌렌더 선수입니다.
역대 올스타전 전적으로 AL 승리 44회, NL 승리 43회 그리고 무승부가 2회가 나올 정도로 역대 전적으로만 본다면 굉장한 접전이다. 과연 월드시리즈 어드벤티지(그해 올스타전 승리한 리그의 팀이 월드시리즈 1,2,6,7차전을 홈경기로 치르는 혜택)가 사라진 첫해 어떤 리그가 승리를 하게 될까요?
흥미로운 올스타전이 될 것 같지만... 저에게 아쉬운 점으로는 텍사스 레인저스 소속으로 선발된 마이크 마이너, 헌터 펜스, 조이 갈로 3명의 선수 중 2명(마이크 마이너, 헌터 펜스)의 선수가 경기에 나서지 못하는 것입니다.
작년 팀에서 홀로 쓸쓸히 올스타전에 출전한 추신수 선수에 이어 올해는 3명이나 올스타 명단에 이름을 올렸지만..
헌터 펜스의 부상과 전반기 마지막 경기에 등판이 예상되어 대체 선수를 선발하여 올스타전 경기에 나서지 못하는 마이크 마이너 선수의 출전이 무산되었습니다..
마이크 마이너 선수는 등판 일정이 변경되어 전반기 마지막 경기에 등판을 하지 않았지만 이미 대체 선수를 뽑았기 때문에 어쩔 수 없이 올스타전 경기에 등판을 하지 못한다고 하더라고요... 아쉽습니다.
그래도 다른 흥밋거리들이 많을 것으로 예상되니 놓치지 말고 꼭 챙겨 보도록 하겠습니다.
